Heroes Actress Ali Larter Wed on Saturday
Take a deep breath and relax as the Fun Fearless Female of the Year according to Cosmopolitan is no longer available. Ali Larter tied the knot with her longtime actor beau Hayes MacArthur at his family estate in Kennebunkport, Maine on Saturday evening, as her rep confirmed exclusively to People magazine.
If you’re a fan of super hero television, you’ll recognize Ali Larter as Niki, Jessica and Tracy from NBC’s Heroes. Others of you will recognize her as the girl who dons the non-melting whip-cream bikini in the James Van Der Beek classic Varsity Blues. No matter what she’s famous and very beautiful. And she looked gorgeous under the canopy of trees late in the afternoon, when she wore a pair of satin platform sandals by Jimmy Choo and a Vera Wang sweetheart neck, A-line gown of Chantilly with hand-pieced corded lace appliqué. She was dazzling while walking down a grassy aisle lined with purple, pink and white flowers and carrying a simple matching bouquet as guests looked on.
Her husband, Hayes MacArthur, who wore a Ralph Lauren Black Label peak-lapel tuxedo and Polo Ralph Lauren bow tie, has largely played character roles in sit-com favorites My Boys, Worst Week, How I Met Your Mother and Pushing Daisies (some of which have been unjustifiably canceled). The two met on the set of the film Stoned Age and have been regular pals ever since. According to People, the couple has been engaged since December 2007.
They’ve celebrated their engagement at L.A.’s Sunset Tower Hotel in October last year in the presence of about 100 friends, who sipped drinks from a private bar and sat on comfortable leather couches inside the hotel or mingled by the pool and terrace area with its stunning views of the city. At that moment, the bride-to-be, 33, spoke about her husband-to-be saying MacArthur, 32, “brought light to my life. I feel lucky every morning when I wake up and see him.”
“Since I was 15 years old, all I wanted was to find the guy I was going to marry. My heart got broken so many times because I put so much pressure on it. And then … I got blindsided. [ Hayes MacArthur] showed me the way, and all was right. This is how it’s supposed to be.”
So, if the engagement party was big and loudly, the outdoor wedding ceremony was small and intimate. Guests arrived on trolleys and Ali’s father walked her down the isle. The only other famous person in attendance was Amy Smart. They played Irish music before the ceremony started in honor of the groom’s heritage.
