John Krasinski and Emily Blunt Engaged on the Last Day of summer
The summer season ended and visitors to Niagara Falls, N.Y., were surprised when they found Jenna Fischer who plays Pam Beesly, and John KrasInski who plays Jim Halpert , both actors from the hit TV show ‘The Office,’ filming a wedding scene for the upcoming season’s fourth episode at the Maid Of The Mist at Niagara Falls, according to The Buffalo News.
Krasinski and Fischer, who play the show’s sweethearts Jim Halpert and Pam Beesly, stood on the front of the Maid of the Mist boat for an episode on their much-anticipated marriage.
However, both John Krasinski and Jenna Fischer are engaged to be married but not to each other, of course. Two months ago, Fischer, 35, accepted writer Lee Kirk’s proposal during a romantic getaway in Europe and, in the last days of summer, Krasinski, 29, followed her example and decided to ask Emily Blunt’s hand in marriage.
The actor started dating Emily, 26, who has played in The Devil Wears Prada and The Young Victoria, in November 2008. According to People magazine, the couple have kept their relationship under wraps, arriving separately at the 2009 SAG Awards in January and enjoying low-key dates in Los Angeles – including a double date with Blunt’s The Devil Wears Prada costar Anne Hathaway and her beau Adam Shulman.
This will be the first marriage for both actors, as Krasinski previously dated his Office costar Rashida Jones and Blunt ended her relationship with Canadian singer Michael Bublé in July 2008 after three years of dating.
It seems that Krasinski has finally found what he was looking for: the perfect girl, as “It’s not about celebrity or not. It’s all about, do you have that ‘girl in a cardigan’ in you. You gotta have that.”
The date of their nuptials has not been revealed but it seems it won’t take long until the happy couple will pledge their love in front of God. “They’ve told their friends and family that this isn’t going to be a long engagement,” a source tells In Touch. “They have to schedule [the wedding] pretty tightly around his work on The Office. He only gets two breaks a year from shooting - at Christmas and in late March. Emily’s going full speed into wedding planning mode. She’s interested in starting a family, so there’s really not a lot of time to waste sitting around.”
