Kendra Wilkinson’s Wedding
The Holmby Hills home of publishing icon Hugh Hefner may be accustomed to the sight of Playmates, but on June 27, 2009 at around 6:45 p.m., the mansion transformed into a site for soul mates as Hef’s former hunny bunny Kendra Wilkinson said “I do” to her love, NFL star Hank Baskett. Hank Baskett and Kendra Wilkinson were married out in the open on a lawn, and there were white rose petals and flower wreaths decorating the aisle.
“She was beaming,” says an eyewitness. She revealed that “she worked with a very special designer to create her vision of a dream wedding dress - a white puffy corseted number that she calls ’so different’.” The Playmate and former Girls Next Door star walked down the aisle in a white dress, dripping in more than $100,000 worth of platinum jewelry by Michael Barin, including drop earrings, a pendant and bracelet, and the 2 1/4-carat princess cut diamond engagement ring from Bernie Robbins Fine Jewelers, which has graced her finger since November 2008. Hank Baskett also wore white, as did the groomsmen. The bridesmaids donned lavender.
The wedding week kicked off for Kendra and Hank with a fun date night Monday evening at the premiere of the hit movie Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Wednesday afternoon the bride-to-be relaxed with some pampering and girl time with her mother, grandmother and bridal party at Face to Face Los Angeles. Kendra also enjoyed a fun bachelorette party the previous Thursday.
Hefner was originally going to walk her down the aisle, but Wilkinson changed her mind and her brother Colin did the honors. In a portrait of the people from the bride’s former life at the mansion, Kendra’s former Girls Next Door co-stars Bridget Marquardt and Holly Madison act as bridesmaids. Among the 500 guests in attendance were Kendra’s former boyfriend, Hugh Hefner, and his three current girlfriends the Shannon Twins and Crystal Harris and many Philadelphia Eagles teammates of Hank’s.
Moreover, the couple announced some other huge news earlier this month – their first child, due on Christmas day! In fact, she has expressed her desire to have kids with Hank for a while now. In February she said, “We always talk about [having kids]. He wants kids so [badly], and I do, too.” She also told that she and Baskett, a wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles, were already working on names. “My first initial is K and my middle name is Leigh, so we were thinking of Kaleigh,” she said. “And he’s Hank Baskett III, so of course I’m going to have a Hank Baskett IV!”
The newlyweds jetted off to the Caribbean island of St. Lucia for a nine-day honeymoon Sunday. Here’s hoping they party with Amy Winehouse while they’re there.
