Last Saturday of September Echoed Wedding Bells

Khloe Kardashian is not the only one who got married during this last weekend of September.
On Saturday, 26th of September, My Name is Earl star Jaime Pressly said “I do” to entertainment lawyer Simran Singh in front of family and friends, including 2-year-old son Dezi James. Walking in the footsteps of Melissa Etheridge and Tammy Lynn Michaels and Adam Sandler and his wife Jackie Titone, whose vows once echoed in an oceanfront ceremony on the Malibu property of Dick Clark, the bride clutched a bouquet of pink and white blossoms and looked stunning in an ivory silk Jenny Packham gown emblazoned with more than 800,000 Swarovski crystals, glass beads and sequins.

At the reception, Pressly changed into a ’40s-inspired open-back cocktail dress, also designed by Packham. Asked by US Magazine “What excites Pressly most about married life with Singh?”, she answered “Just being a Mrs. I’m very excited to be in a partnership and have some stability that I haven’t had before in my life.” She also told Us it was great “to have someone who shares everything with you, to help carry the bags and [son] Dezi and to have somebody who can carry his own weight.”
The same Saturday was “The” happy day for American Idol’s Justin Guarini who pledged his eternal love and devotion to Reina Capodici, whom he first met in junior high school, where Capodici’s mother was his English teacher. The wedding took place in the garden of a private estate in Guarini’s hometown of Doylestown, Penn. The couple recited vows they wrote themselves and waited to exchange rings - which were kept in a wooden, moss-covered box - until after the box had been passed around to each of the 50 invited guests, who were free to say prayers and pass along good wishes to the couple. At the reception, held nearby at Guarini’s parents’ estate, guests dined on salmon and asparagus and danced to music deejayed by Cutting Edge Entertainment, the same company Guarini had spun for before auditioning for Idol. The couple’s first dance was to their song, Jeff Buckley’s version of “Hallelujah,”, and Guarini also shared a first dance with Capodici’s 4-year-old daughter, Lola, to Regina Spektor’s “Samson.”

Actress Essence Atkins married her beau Jaime Mendez in Pasadena, Calif., also on Saturday. The couple, who tied the knot at the Ambassador Mansion and Gardens, met on Match.com on Valentine’s Day of last year. “I wrote him a quick little note that I had read his profile, and then I signed off, Happy SAD Day – that’s Single Awareness Day,” says Essence, 37, who appeared on the UPN sitcom Half and Half. A week later the couple went on their first date, and they were engaged a year later.

The bride wore a Stephen Yearick gown for the ceremony and an Angel Rivera dress for the reception and she surprised her husband with a salsa band to celebrate his Puerto Rican heritage. The menu, created by chef G. Garvin, blended Puerto Rican and traditional soul food dishes, which included mac and cheese, roasted pork, peach cobbler and plantains. Moreover, guests received match books and travel-sized candles, while singles guests were given six-month memberships to Match.com.
