Milla Jovovich Confirms Wedding Date
The Ukrainian beauty, Milla Jovovich, has finally made up her mind and confirmed to People magazine that she and fiancé, director Paul Anderson, will tie the knot Aug. 22 at their Hollywood home.
“We’re getting married in two weeks!” she gushed at the premiere of her latest thriller A Perfect Getaway, which costars Steve Zahn and Timothy Olyphant and hits theatres nationwide Friday. “So, that’s just one more kind of layer on my proverbial cake.”
The couple have been on and off or years, and were never formally engaged in 2003. Milla broke that one off and then she postponed her planned 2007 wedding to the Brit director.
Besides, Milla has been married a couple of times before. As a teen she was married to actor Shawn Andrews, and then to director Luc Besson. Besson gave Jovo her big break by casting her in the 5th Element. They followed that up with the Messenger. Milla was pretty much Besson’s muse by this point, as well as having short cutted to the top of Hollywood’s AList. However, it didn’t last long and this will be the third time down the aisle for the actress. She and Anderson already have daughter, Ever Gabo (born Nov. 3, 2007) and she says raising a child has finally made her realise who she is. She added to Britain’s Guardian newspaper: “There’s no mystery to who I am any more. You know, you go through your whole life looking for an identity and then you become a mother and you’re like, ‘Oh. I’m a mom’. So no matter what, that’s who I am. If all else fades, I’m still a mom. The acting, the modelling career - I’d give it all up for her.” Therefore it’s not a surprise they finally made the decision to tie the knot because of their 21-month-old daughter.
Her wedding to filmmaker Paul W.S. Anderson - after a six-year engagement “is going to be small,” she explained, adding, “It’s just going to be family and close friends. And it’s at our home and it’s going to be kind of like Havana/Cuban, like very California-Spanish feeling. It’s going to be nice.” “We’re having an intimate wedding with a classical Spanish band at our house in the Hollywood Hills. Paul’s family are flying in from England” Jovovich says, “We’re having an intimate wedding with a classical Spanish band at our house in the Hollywood Hills”.
Moreover, Jovovich, 33, who launched the now-defunct clothing line Jovovich-Hawk with friend Carmen Hawk back in 2003, will also be designing her dress for the special day. “I’m making a dress right now,” she revealed. “It’s very like, without the negative influence, but it’s very like Sharon Tate kind of 1960’s mini-dress.”
